The blight is a mysterious infection that alters the physical appearance of creatures, often a sticky black sludge covering the creature and extra limbs.
The blight drains energy, rather than providing it, the opposite of magic. It jumps from host to host, creating a hivemind style army of creatures, this is evident in the world, an infected plant can pass blight to a rabbit who eats it, then to the fox who gets the rabbit, then to a wolf.
