Weapons

Six weapons, six ways to fight, and the full Middle Guard longsword moveset.

Last updated 22 August 2026

There are currently six weapons in Arcane Atelier, offering six different ways to fight.

Each weapon type has its own set of combat styles, designed to play on the weapons strengths, each composed of an M1 (light attack) chain of 4-5 moves, a block, parry, a dash light attack, heavy attack, uppercut, downslam, and two additional special moves.

SwordThe benchmark for combat, balanced in terms of reach, speed, and power.
Two-Handed AxeSlower than the sword, but deals plenty of damage.
SpearIt's not known for it's damage, but it's reach is fantastic for keeping opponents away.
ScytheOn the slower side, but it's fantastic for pulling enemies in.
MaceVery heavy, resulting in slower swings but high damage and knockback.
DaggerExtremely light and fast, excellent for landing blows before your opponent.

Longsword: Middle Guard

The first style on the longsword. The idle holds the blade at upper chest height, pointed at the opponent, and the whole set is built around wide sweeping strikes at an even pace.

M1Horizontal slash, left to right at chest height.
M2Horizontal slash, right to left at chest height.
M3Diagonal slash, lower left waist up to right shoulder.
M4Diagonal slash, lower right waist to left shoulder.
M5Vertical slash, above the head down to the ground.
HeavySquare up, wind above the right shoulder, powerful diagonal down to the left waist.
Airborne heavyThe same slash, with a barrel roll through it.
UppercutStab through the chest, jump, carry them up, flick the blade out.
Down slamGrab with the left arm, swing the sword down straight through them.
LungeLaunch forward, wind back over the left shoulder, horizontal slash.
Specials

Gap closer. Spin the sword in the right hand, dash in, land crouched with the blade at the enemy's feet, then spring up into a vertical slash followed by a spinning horizontal one.

Heavy damage. Stab through the chest, lift the enemy on the blade, slam them to the ground on their knees, pull out, then bring a diagonal slash up from the ground into a big overhead down to the floor.
